Miles Hall
2D Art Faculty
Miles Hall’s parents met and married in LA. His father was in construction and his mother in graphic design. She said, “I want to design a house in the mountains to raise kids.” He said, “I’d love to build that for you,” so they ran off to Tahoe and thus Miles had the good fortune to be born there. He grew up running around in the Sierras and planned to do so for many years, until he discovered that he loved art possibly even more than that.
Miles took his first art class at LTCC from David Foster, he received his BFA in Painting from The Art Institute of Boston in 2006, an MFA in Studio Art from SUNY Purchase in 2011, and an MA in Contemporary and Modern Art History from the same institution in 2012. He has taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia State University and Lake Tahoe Community College, with courses ranging from Modern Art History and Color Theory to Perspective, Concept Design and Life Drawing. He has exhibited his work in California, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia. He has also lived in Japan and France. He hopes to continue making paintings for many years to come.
